The royal expert Piers Morgan never had good things to say about the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. He has constantly criticized the former American actress for her comments and actions against the royal family. The just-released Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan also failed to please the journalist. Apart from his criticism of the Sussexes, Morgan is also famous on social media for his love for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Twitter users are convinced that Morgan loves the football sensation as much as he hates Meghan Markle. Thus, when the journalist tweeted on Saturday shading Lionel Messi and supporting Ronaldo, the fans were reminded of the Duchess of Sussex. Notably, Piers Morgan slammed Messi for his on-field behavior in the game against Argentina.

In the quarter-final of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Lionel Messi lost his cool against the opponents, the Netherlands. The footballer was not happy with the comments made by Louis van Gaal before the much-hyped encounter and thus criticized him after the game. Messi also seemed critical of the referee, Mateu Lahoz. Following the aggressive behavior by the Argentina star, Piers Morgan was reminded of the flak Christiano Ronaldo faced a few days back for similar conduct on the field. 

Thus, to advocate for his favorite player, the journalist took a dig at Messi via his Twitter handle. He wrote, “So yesterday, Lionel Messi abused the referee, abused the rival coach, and abused one of his opponents. Methinks if Ronaldo did that, it would get a tad more media attention.” The trolling by Morgan did not go well with a lot of football fans. Thus they used the name Meghan Markle to troll the journalist back.

Meanwhile, before the Lionel Messi fiasco, Morgan had taken a jibe at all the royal fans who trolled him for saying things about Meghan Markle. A lot of Twitter users are convinced that Morgan does not like the Duchess as she once ghosted him. Calling out the claims, the journalist shared a picture of his wife from her modeling days while saying how Markle lucked out.
