Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have got a lot on their plate; affection and abhorrence all balanced out in equal proportions. After the tell-all Netflix bigwig that has set some new bars for the coming age docuseries, the couple is now moving ahead with their second multi-million project with the American Streaming Giant. Although there were many, like Jeremy Clarkson, throwing dirt onto their name, the couple never paid heed to any of those until now.

After the scandalous controversies over the Jeremy Clarkson article, there has been much back and forth among the British media and the British public. After enormous outrage and backlash, the writer as well as the publisher, The Sun, took to their platforms to apologize for the said “vile and disgusting hate comments” against Meghan Markle. Days after, it seems like Harry and Meghan have finally addressed the horrific fallout, not by themselves but through one of their close associates in the media.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle speak up on the Jeremy Clarkson apology 

The other day, one of the spokespersons representing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on official terms took to BBC to put their views on the table. Through their representative, the Sussex couple affirmed that “the public absolutely deserves the publication’s regrets for their dangerous comments.” It further went on to note that this situation would not have arisen in the first place if “The Sun did not continue to profit off of hate, violence, and misogyny.

Speaking of the apology, the source read that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not approached for any of the apologies. The Sun has continued to publish content on the Sussexes soon after the Clarkson fallout. Owing to the same, the Sussexes said, “A true apology would be a shift in their coverage and ethical standards for all.” The Duchess also called the publication’s attempt at apologizing for the column a PR stunt to sell papers per the spokesperson’s account to BBC.

For the unversed, Tabloid Mogul, Jeremy Clarkson had openly stated a string of vile and vulgar remarks at the Duchess. As a result, Twitteratti stormed the platform compelling him, and the Publisher, as well to frame an apology note to the public.
