Prince Harry and Meghan Markle speak up on the Jeremy Clarkson apology
The other day, one of the spokespersons representing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on official terms took to BBC to put their views on the table. Through their representative, the Sussex couple affirmed that “the public absolutely deserves the publication’s regrets for their dangerous comments.” It further went on to note that this situation would not have arisen in the first place if “The Sun did not continue to profit off of hate, violence, and misogyny.”
Speaking of the apology, the source read that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not approached for any of the apologies. The Sun has continued to publish content on the Sussexes soon after the Clarkson fallout. Owing to the same, the Sussexes said, “A true apology would be a shift in their coverage and ethical standards for all.” The Duchess also called the publication’s attempt at apologizing for the column a PR stunt to sell papers per the spokesperson’s account to BBC.
