Tom Brady Pulls Cameron Diaz, 49, Out of Retirement for a Netflix Film With Jamie Foxx

One of the leading ladies from the 90s and 2000s is making a return to the screen. Cameron Diaz first made us fall in love with her in her debut film The Mask beside Jim Carrey. Once she caught the attention of the public, there was no turning back from the bombshell. She continued to appear in a string of hits from Shrek, to There’s Something About Mary to Charlie’s Angels

However, after a successful career, she announced her retirement in 2014. But here we are in 2022, and the actress decided to unretire after a pep talk from NFL star Tom Brady.

The actress last appeared on Annie alongside Jamie Foxx. Interestingly, she’s returning to the screens again with Foxx in Back In Action. Jamie Foxx announced it via Twitter. He shared an audio clip where we can hear Tom Brady giving her tips on unretirement.

Apparently, the actress was at a loss for words and needed the NFL star’s encouragement. For Tom, coming back to work after announcing retirement is nothing new. Earlier this year, fans were heartbroken to hear of Tom’s retirement, but 40 days later, the legend was back playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

We still don’t have any details on the plot yet. Horrible Bosses‘ Seth Gordon is helming the movie, and apparently, co-wrote the script with Brendan O’Brien. Foxx, Datari Turner, O’Brien, and Mark McNair are expected to produce the flick. Moreover, Beau Bauman and Gordon are attached to the flick as producers. 

A mother of a two-year-old, Diaz will turn 50 this year. Although the actress welcomed a baby at 47, she still continues to stay fit. Having suffered an Achilles Heel injury just recently, Cameron Diaz has re-evaluated her lifestyle. She has previously stated her desire to reach 110 years of age and be there for her child.
