Tiger King Season 2: What’s the Backstory of the Continuing Mayhem?
The Tiger King is coming back on Netflix with a fresh new season. It proved to be one of the most popular docuseries in the times of lockdown. Interestingly, fans have been excited about a “documentary” since the announcement of its season 2 at Netflix’s Tudum: Global Fan Event.
The docuseries starts with a big cat collector Joe Exotic‘s interconnected communication with a big cat conservationist Carole Baskin, who blames Exotic that he is abusing and exploiting animals.
After investigating Joe Exotic, he has been found guilty of murders, and violations of the Lacey Act and Endangered Species Act. This investigation and subsequent judgment resulted in 22 years of prison sentence for Exotic.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness focus on the confrontations between two people – Carole Baskin, a big cat conservationist, and big cat collector Joe Exotic, who collects big cats with other wild animals, and runs a private zoo. Baskin accuses Exotic of abusing and exploiting wild animals. The plot explores the man Joe Exotic, an attention seeker owner who turns out to be a convicted criminal. Fans have been amazed by the show because of its unconventional real story, which turned out to be better than many web series and films.
Who all are there in Tiger King 2?
The Netflix Original Tiger King Season 2 will premiere on November 17th, 2021 exclusively on Netflix. The major characters will return from the first season. The trailer of the second season shows us the cast which includes Tim Stark, Jeff Lowe, Allen Glover, and James Garretson. Joe Exotic will also be there because Tiger King is impossible without him. However, he will show only a brief glimpse as he is still serving prison. The trailer also highlights a lot of illegal activities which does not come as a surprise for the fans of Tiger King.
Intriguingly, Carole Baskin, another important character of Tiger Kin is missing from the trailer. Baskin was not in support of the first season of Tiger King. But, the show is still on. She has been extremely outspoken about her disapproval.
Producers say there is more to Tiger King
The official synopsis of Tiger King Season 2 reads, “With Joe Exotic behind bars and Carole Baskin closing in on ownership of his disreputable zoo, the Emmy-nominated saga continues its twisted course with Tiger King 2 as newfound revelations emerge on the motivations, backstories, and secrets of America’s most notorious big cat owners. Old enemies and frenemies, including Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson, return for another season of murder, mayhem, and madness”

Many of us thought Joe Exotic behind the bars is the end of the story. But, the producers of the show explained to Entertainment Weekly that there’s more to it. She said, “…we have a crazy amount of footage, and it’s a story that’s still unfolding… it’ll be just as dramatic and just as colorful as what has unfolded [in] these past few years.”
Chaikin and Goode claimed that there is still a “crazy amount of footage” and the documentary subjects are obsessed with filming themselves. Who knows we even get to see a third season of Tiger King!

Netflix has revealed some interesting facts about Tiger King. In the second season, Joe Exotic’s bitter quarrel with Jeff Lowe is still going on, who now is the owner of Exotic’s zoo. The second season continues to question the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s husband, Don Lewis. He was also connected with underworld operations, which could be a reason for his disappearance.
