It seems like even Superman cannot resist a little comic-con cosplay. Superman, as we all know, is one of the most popular superheroes there are. The Man Of Steel enjoys a massive comic book history and is a huge pop culture icon as well. Furthermore, the character’s popularity skyrocketed after Henry Cavill starred as Superman in Zack Snyder’s 2013 film Man Of Steel. However, back in 2014, Zack Snyder shared pictures that left the DC fandom in a frenzy. Not long after the release of the film Man Of Steel, pictures of Henry Cavill trading his Kryptonian suit for the Jedi robe went viral.

Shortly after Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel made its way to our screens, the Army of the Dead director left the DC fandom at the loss for words with a peculiar image. The director took to Twitter to share a picture of Henry Cavill dressed up in the Star Wars Jedi robe. The Enola Holmes star was wielding a Vader-red lightsaber with the tiniest glimpse of the Superman logo peeking from the gown.
While most of Cavill’s face was covered in a dark black hood, his nose and mouth were clearly visible. Snyder did not give much of a direct hint and simply captioned the picture, #SuperJedi. Even though it is not clear why Snyder posted the picture, the fans went frenzy after seeing Cavill in the Jedi outfit.
How did the fans react to seeing Henry Cavill in a Jedi robe?
Shortly after Snyder shared pictures of Cavill in a Jedi robe, the fans flooded the comments with praises for Cavill in the Star Wars outfit. Furthermore, it even sparked speculations about whether Cavill was going to join the Star Wars franchise. Another reason behind Snyder sharing the picture could have been a subtle attempt to express his interest in the Star Wars franchise. Back then, Vulture reported that Zack Snyder was in talks to develop a Star Wars spinoff. Sadly, that never happened.
However, the collision of these two massive universes would have been surely exciting to witness if it would have happened. Meanwhile, as of late, the British actor is gearing up for an upcoming Warhammer project on Amazon Prime Video. On the other hand, Snyder is busy working on an upcoming project Rebel Moon.
