In a 2013 black carpet interview with Comicbook, Henry Cavill opened up about his first portrayal as Superman in Man of Steel. In an extensive conversation, he was asked: “What do you think is the thing that fundamentally drives Superman in iteration?”

The Sand Castle star stated in his response that there is no one essential component that navigates this character. Superman is a manifold character who gets to discover himself in a new world where people are different.

“It’s “Who am I?”, “Where am I from, and what am I doing here?” and “Why am I?” And then there’s the question of “Are these my people or are they not my people?” explained Cavill.

Moreover, the Immortals star added that this superhero had to decide between what is right and wrong because he was an alien from the planet called Krypton and his incredible strength would decide if he was a boon or a curse for his new home.

Fast forwarding to today, Henry Cavill posted a video on Instagram that confirmed he is cast in Man of Steel 2. Meanwhile, Warner Bros hasn’t decided on the direction part as the previous creator, Zack Snyder, is busy with other projects.
