Trevor Noah on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars
The Will Smith-Chris Rock incident at the Oscars sparked a huge controversy, with people condemning the actor for his behavior. While Smith became a subject to criticism from various celebrities, comedian Trevor Noah saw it as a blessing in disguise. On one of the episodes of The Daily Show, Noah talked about how the Oscar ban on Smith was not so severe if you think about it. The comedian confessed, how, despite being banned, Smith could still win Oscars. Furthermore Noah said, “So, in many ways this is not a punishment. Yeah it is a favor.”
Elsewhere in the video, Noah admitted how the King Richard actor does not have to get dressed and sit through a bunch of boring awards. Moreover, the talk show host even mocked the different categories of awards at the Oscars. Interestingly, Noah even yelled, “I wish I could get banned from the Emmys.”

While Trevor Noah joked around the Will Smith incident at the Oscars, a number of individuals came to Smith’s support. Various tweets followed criticising Chris Rock for his insensitive joke on Jada Pinkett Smith.

However, shortly after, Will took to his Instagram apologizing for the Chris Rock incident.
