Billie Eilish shared an eponymous picture book of her childhood in 2021, which gave fans an insight to her personal life. The legendary recording artist included adorable photos with family and her baby memories in the book.

It was also revealed in the book that the Grammy winning singer was not called by this name in childhood. Her family used to call her “Pirate” and the credit goes to her big brother Finneas O’Connell. The story is that Finneas was a big pirate fan and used to call his baby sister by the same name.

“They called me pirate for months, and they were kind of planning on naming me Pirate,” stated Eilish.

The Bad Guy singer added that her grandmother, who died years before she was born, had a pet-name, Bill, so the singer was named Billie by her parents after her grandmother. However, the name Pirate still holds a place in her life and she mentioned it as her middle name. Therefore, her full name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell.
