What line from the Shazam 2 trailer divides the DC fandom?
Recently at the San Diego Comic-Con, DC released the first trailer of Shazam! The Fury Of Gods. What was supposed to be a big update for the DC fandom instead upset them. A line by Zachary Levi in the trailer left some fans upset that they criticised the director David F. Sandberg so severely that he decided to remove the line from the movie. Towards the end of the trailer, Zachary threw a truck at the dragon and stated, “I just threw a truck at a dragon. I love my life.” What was supposed to be the familiar trope of stating the obvious for comedic effect instead upset some fans.
Furthermore, the fans went on to call it a cringe line and even a cringe movie. On the other hand, some fans came to its defence. A handful of people defended the line stating the character Billy is just a kid and the line ideally suited him. Interestingly, the age-old debate between DC and MCU sparked again with fans bringing Robert Downey Jr. into the discussion.
