Sydney Sweeney is an extremely enthusiastic individual with a strong sense of self. This is one of the reasons she was sure she was going to make a great actress someday. The 25-year-old got a chance to prove that in her breakout role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria, for which she also won an Emmy nomination. Surprisingly, when she first received the role offer, the Reality star was unsure.

The reason behind her hesitation was, as she explained in her own words in an interaction with MTV News in 2019, “There was a bit of, ‘Ooo, I don’t know if I’m gonna do this because of nudity.'” It was a big deal for her, but that is when she got practical. The Spokane native said that she gave it a second thought and imagined that if she were a 17-year-old, she would get naked while having sex with her boyfriend. She believed in the fact that it was reality.

And the fact that the show’s scenes were relatable and empathic to a wide range of people while not being “glamorized” or “sugar-coated” was the prime motivator for the Everything Sucks! actress. Sweeney realized that the show was based on reality and not on something focused on nudity. That is when she decided to do justice to the reality of the show and take the challenge. What does Sydney Sweeney think of Cassie?

To the Spokane native, the character of Cassie is someone who still has not figured her life out. She is more complicated than a normal teenager, who is trying to fit in with her school life and friends while she is out there in search of love. Cassie tries to fall in love with every person she dates, but she ultimately ends up hurting herself because of it.

The n*des leak encounter made Cassie look like a wh*re or a s*ut in the eyes of everyone. The White Lotus star said that ultimately it became hard for her to figure out who she is since people always made her feel like a s*ut.

The small-town girl also believed that many people might empathize with Cassie’s narrative of emotional ups and downs. Hence, the complex journey of the character is what made her play it and ultimately nail it to perfection.
