Well, in The Witcher‘s world, there are a lot of things that are confusing and require explanations every time you come across them. One thing that is most confusing, and yet used widely with no caution, is the Law of Surprise. To be honest, the law is a little problematic as well; you will soon understand why. So according to the Law of Surprise, when a man does a good deed for another man, like saving his life, as payment, he can invoke the Law of Surprise.
Doesn’t it feel disturbing to see people claiming children as payments? Though Netflix tried to make us okay with it by making Pavetta and Duny fall in love, the law still feels gross at times.
The law says that, if another man saves a man, he owes that savior a boon; the nature of the which is not known to any of them. In most cases, the boon usually takes the form of the firstborn child of the man. The same was the case with Ciri and Geralt. As we see that after Geralt saved Duny aka Urcheon of Erlenwald, he jokingly claimed the Law of Surprise, unaware that Pavetta, Duny’s wife, was already pregnant with Ciri.

Is Ciri Geralt’s daughter in The Witcher
Ciri is not Geralt’s daughter, which we clearly know from the events of the show. Truth be told, Geralt can never even have children, thanks to his training as the witcher. But the Law of Surprise has bound Ciri with the White Wolf, who now is tasked to keep the young kid safe. We know that in the books Geralt and Ciri have a father-daughter bond; it appears the same will be the case with the Netflix Original.

We have already seen clips and images of Ciri at the keep of Kaer Morhen. She has been training with Geralt’s fellow witchers, and honestly, we can not wait to see her at the School of the Wolf. Sure, Ciri is not Geralt’s actual daughter, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a relationship like one. Even though Vesemir was clearly unhappy with Geralt bringing her to Kaer Morhen, Geralt bringing her anyway shows how much he cares for the swallow.
