Actors often leave behind characters once they wrap up the project. But this process becomes harder when you live as the character for over a decade. However, it is essential to move on, and so did Emilia Clarke. The petite actress became a household name with her portrayal of the blonde princess and the mother of the Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, on the HBO series Game of Thrones. The prequel House of The Dragon deals with events and her family that came way before her.
When she recently appeared for an interview at the Variety studio, she was quick to admit that she steers clear of the prequel. Her confession has received some hilarious reactions from her loyal fanbase.
Fans react to Emilia Clarke avoiding House of The Dragon because it’s strange
The loyal followers of Emilia Clarke tweeted in support of the actress, who recently claimed she never watched the show. They all understood her point of view, considering how badly HBO dealt with her character.

Jon Snow’s betrayal is hard to forget. While Daenerys did become the Mad Queen, massacring millions, she was ultimately slain by her beloved Jon Snow. It was a betrayal that no one saw coming.

Talking to Matt Donnelly at Variety’s studio, the Last Christmas actress sheepishly admitted her reluctance to tune in. She feels like the prequel is sort of like a reunion that is not for her to attend. “It’s so strange. It’s kind of like someone saying, ‘You want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year? Want to go to that school reunion?’” she explained. But she is definitely happy with the love that the show is receiving. House of the Dragon was a huge hit for the premium cable network saw 9.9 million viewers tuning in for the pilot episode.
The series recently received a Golden Globes nomination in the Best Drama category. As for Emily, the Emmy-nominated actress next appears in The Pod Generation. Not only has the HBO bigwig lost a viewer, but it has also lost out on a prolific director.
