“The most….” – Ben Affleck Reveals How It Is to Work With Long Time Friend Jason Bateman

As Ben Affleck got back in the director’s chair, fans knew in their hearts that he would bring back the absolute magic that Jason Bateman was in offbeat comedies. And with the confirmation of Air, he did just that and so much more. Given how the actors have been long-term friends and even costars back in 2009 with Extract, their collaboration garnered a lot of attention. Fans finally got the much-needed insight as Ben Affleck appeared as a guest on Bateman’s smartly designed podcast called Smartless.

Air is the first in a long time that the Oscar award-winning director Ben Affleck has sat on the director’s chair. And much like every guest on the podcast, it does not take long for him to unravel and unleash secrets of the long and sturdy bond he has with Jason Bateman. The highlight, however, was the Gone Girl actor’s description of working with the Ozark actor.

2023 started on the right foot, especially as Ben Affleck announced not only his production company but also his directorial project Air starring Jason Bateman, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, and Chris Tucker, among others. The movie naturally premiered to good reviews and tons of appreciation for Affleck’s directorial skill. However, the fact that Jason Bateman and Ben Affleck were working together again also a lot of attention. On the Smartless podcast, Affleck described Bateman as “the most compelling.” And in case anybody had doubts, Affleck further said “Jason is f***ing amazing guys!“.

The Air director dived into how at home Bateman is with the script provided to him. From quipping in lines of his own to more improv back and forth with Matt Damon, Affleck once again testified to how seasoned Jason Bateman is as a performer.
