The Duchess of Sussex in India? Fans Can’t Stop Gushing Over an Age-Old Video of Meghan Markle Taking Her Humanitarian Works Overseas

Following the infamous Megxit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have engaged themselves in various charitable and philanthropic works. Owing to the same, the Sussexes have also been recognized and acknowledged on various occasions. After having won the JFK Ripple of Hope awards, the couple has emerged as one of the most powerful duos in terms of their works and campaigns, in the industry.

Adding more to it, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently released a 24-page-long document on their website Archetypes. The document which they called the ‘Impact report’ gave us a full-length analysis of all of their philanthropic and humanitarian campaigns so far. However, did you know that long before tying the knot with the military prince, Meghan Markle was already into much of social sciences and welfare?

Meghan Markle promoted the importance of hygiene and sanitation in India

Recently, an age-old video has gone viral on Twitter regarding the Duchess. After having worked diligently in her native place and the neighboring countries, the former Suits Actress had once made her way to India. The purpose of the visit could not have been more predictable. Given India’s comparatively stereotypical and unhygienic circumstances, the Duchess had come on a campaign to help young girls and women survive through the same.

Hence, back in 2017, Meghan Markle partnered with World Vision to speak out for young girls’ right to education and Sanitation in India. The charity World Vision shared a previously released video of Meghan Markle during her visit where she primarily focused on gender equality and girls’ access to education and proper hygiene. She is a firm believer in how the stigmatization of menstruation can affect girls’ education.

Fans thank the Duchess for her selfless work 

Markle visited various schools and institutions in the Capital city, Delhi and Mumbai with new toilet facilities as she promoted the importance of having clean hygiene for girls. She tells the cameras, “What we found is that the enrollment at this school went up three times once the latrines were built so that girls had access to clean hygiene and bathroom facilities while they’re at school.

Markle could be seen wearing the traditional saree with nine years of beautifully crafted pieces of cloth wrapped around her body. The people of India helped make Meghan Markle at home by greeting her with traditional rituals. Fans worldwide, especially the Indians could not have been more grateful to the Duchess in the comments.
