The actor had just returned home and shot a cameo for The Flash film as well. But, apparently, after confirming him not returning to the groundbreaking show, The Witcher after season 3, the English actor, will not be coming back as Superman, either. “I will, after all, not be returning as Superman,” wrote Cavill.

“The changing of the guard is something that happens,” the actor added in his emotional announcement. Not only did he announce the news, but he also thanked those who stood by him all these years. He is leaving the character portrayed on-screen. But he assured everyone that Superman’s goodness and the examples he set will always be there. “My turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman stands for never will.”

Fans do not want to watch DC movies anymore

Hearing about the news, fans are disappointed, outraged, and heartbroken. They have taken over the internet as they share their feelings.
