‘Squid Game’ Season 2: Who Is Cheol-SU, Young-Hee’s Boyfriend Being Introduced With the Returning Cast?

The deadliest survival series from Korea has announced that it’s going to come back with new episodes. Yes, we are talking about Squid Game. The superhit Korean Netflix Original achieved tremendous success after its debut last fall: it’s still the #1 most-watched TV series on Netflix of all time. Fans were awaiting confirmation and it finally arrived with a terrifying teaser. Additionally, Hwang Dong-Hyuk, the writer, producer, and director of the series also added a little note for the fans. He teased the return of three characters with a brand new terrifying addition, Cheol Su, for Squid Game 2

Who is this brand new addition in Squid Game 2?

Fans are flabbergasted with the new info that the terrifying doll Young Hee’s boyfriend Cheol Su will appear in Squid Game 2. We still don’t know much about Cheol Su. But we are sure, he’s as lethal and ruthless as his girlfriend. We might even get his own version of the chilling jingle. Or who knows? They might join hands together and kill players on a date! 

The iconic murderous doll, Young Hee appeared on the show for the first time in the ‘Red Light, Green Light’ episode. The doll was capable of motion sensing and was programmed to kill off any contestant that it sensed had moved, resulting in the deadliest game that the contestants were subjected to. Young Hee killed around 255 players in the first round itself. 

Apart from Cheol Su’s entry, Hwang revealed, that Gi Hun, the Front Man as well as The Salesman will also return.

When can you expect the second installment to drop?

Hwang has revealed that he’s still working on the script. So far he only has “three pages worth of ideas“. Producer Kim Ji Yeon further revealed the pressure in developing the story. 

But there’s definitely a lot of pressure on how to make [Season 2] even better. I know that a lot of the different fans and audiences have enjoyed the series very much, but really we’re focusing on how to make it even more joyful to the global audience.” 

You can binge the first season on Netflix until season 2 arrives with more deadly games.
