The Peaky Blinders gang and initial seasons of the show
Peaky Blinders is inarguably one of the finest series of the last decade. The series revolves around the Shelby family, a gang based in the city of Birmingham. While the Shelby family is fictional, the Peaky Blinders were indeed a gang that infiltrated 19th century England. The gang’s antics were just as dark as the people we see in the Netflix Original. The Peaky Blinders originated as a single gang, but the term later came to be generalized.
The first season of the show surrounds Billy Kimber, a man Cillian Murphy’s Thomas Shelby defeats easily while dealing with Chester Campbell. Then came Darby Sabini in season two, a much more gruesome antagonist but not quite as powerful. Sabini, the former kingpin, reluctantly but eventually learns to tame himself. With Arctic Monkeys’ iconic Do I Wanna Know playing, Tommy Shelby celebrates his victory over Sabini and correspondence with Winston Churchill and the many aces up his sleeve.
The third season is about the Shelbys growing to prominence, getting closely involved with national governments, and again, by the end, Thomas gets rid of the season’s antagonist- Father Hughes.
With season 4 came Luca Changretta. Despite minimal screen time, he managed to make his mark as the most iconic antagonist yet. Despite his ruthlessness, Changretta played by the rules, making him a fan favorite. And once again, perhaps for the last time, Tommy won fairly quickly.

While all the antagonists of the Netflix series so far either played by the rules or had power only rivaling the Shelbys, Oswald Mosley set the bar a little too high. Sam Claflin plays this character based on the Former Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. While Tommy also has to deal with the extremely brutal Billy Boys (who killed another fan-favorite character- Bonnie Gold), Mosley keeps on rising to prominence and doesn’t hesitate to use the Shelbys for his goal.
While he never kills anyone on screen, this brazen character hires the Billy Boys to do the dirty work. Tommy Shelby calling him “the devil” says all there is to say about the character. For the first time in the series, Tommy couldn’t manage to defeat the antagonist by the end of the season.

And so, Peaky Blinders season 6 will surround Oswald Mosley and the Billy Boys. With many unanswered questions, unsettled debts, and, of course, Aberama Gold’s revenge for his son’s death, the final season of the series is set to be the most thrilling one yet.
