The cast and crew believe Jenna Ortega is the true incarnation of Wednesday Addams

In the upcoming Netflix series, Jenna Ortega is playing the deadpan teen version of Wednesday Addams. The emblematic character of Charles Addams has a nasty attitude and throws biting remarks on people like arrows.

Netflix shared a new video that throws light on the development of this character. As she enters a new school after being expelled for attempting murder on Dalton. The showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Miller revealed that finding Wednesday was the biggest task for them.

“The key ingredient to the show was finding Wednesday. And when we found Jenna, it was just like she was the one,” said Miles. Moreover, Catherine Zeta-Jones who is playing Morticia Addams said that the actress has a “dry sense of humor” which makes her the perfect candidate for this role.

On that note, we would say that we have seen the actress previously in gothic movies so it seems natural that she is pulling off this character seamlessly.

During the conversation, Ortega told Netflix that she has watched the Addams family in her childhood. Therefore, she relates to the character and has been compared to it all her life. She added that because she knows Wednesday and wanted to give her best for the role.

“I wanted her to be specific and certain and assertive.”

Furthermore, Tom Burton praised the actress for her flawless acting in the show. He said: “And that’s we are very lucky to have Jenna because I can’t imagine any other Wednesday”. The director thinks that she has portrayed all the thoughts exceptionally without using words. Her expressions were enough to know the inner life.
