Sandman on Netflix Will Make Jump From One Genre to Other With Every Installment, Says Writer-Producer Neil Gaiman
Poetry and dreaming go hand in hand. And a dream personified to oversee and influence all the other dreams, stories, and inspiration would be a rather intriguing sight to witness. Well, Neil Gaiman has done the work with sheer perfection. He penned a comic series that ruled the world of graphic fiction in the late 1900s. The Sandman, so broad in its scope and metaphysical in its nature, is almost impossible to resist. And to our surprise, Netflix has now adapted this comic series, setting yet another milestone in the streaming world. No doubt as to why it is the most awaited series of the year.
The Sandman is set to land on Netflix later this year, leaping around space and time. The series will follow Dream, who generally appears as a shaggy, pale, mopey guy but can transform into literally anything. And Gaiman has joined the team to produce this fantasy and take our breath away. Recently, Gaiman talked about his vision and mission in an interview with Empire, and it was a truly interesting talk. Hence, with a little ado, let’s see what Neil Gaiman got to say about this shape-shifting fantasy drama.

Writer-producer, Neil Gaiman, recently told Empire Magazine how he wants each of the episodes of The Sandman on Netflix to be extremely verifying from each other. Seems like he is in the mood to take viewers by surprise with every new episode as they change the course with every installment.
Opening up about this genre-gamboling fantasy epic, Gaiman said, “You watch Episode 1 and think, ‘Oh, I get this thing: it’s like “Downton Abbey,” but with magic. Then you’ll be wondering, ‘What the hell is this?’ by Episode 2, when you’re meeting Gregory the Gargoyle in The Dreaming. Episode 5 is about as dark and traumatic as anything is ever gonna get, then you’ve got Episode 6, which is probably the most feel-good of all the episodes.”
Notably, he also teased how this show will defer from all the other fantasies out there, saying it won’t hold on to a monogamous premise like The Game of Thrones did. He said, “With ‘Sandman,’ it’s all about surprising you. It’s all about reinventing itself. It’s all about taking you on a journey you’ve not been on before.”
Reading this promising conversation, you might wonder who all are part of this fantasy drama. We have covered that as well, just for you.
