Sacha Baron Cohen Takes a Moment to Slam Kanye West in Classic ‘Borat’ Style, Calls Him “Too anti Semitic”

Kanye West may criticize everyone, but Sacha Baron Cohen roasted him. The Borat film series is one of the most iconic ones, wherein the lead character goes for cultural learning to America, to benefit Kazakhstan. But the movie was also highly criticized for its anti-Semitic outlook. However, Cohen was much appreciated for his acting.

Meanwhile, West saw the end of his extended contract with Adidas, as a result of his anti-semitic comments. The artist stirred up a storm when he wrote “Death con 3 to Jewish people” in a tweet, continuing to defend his opinion. Hitting back at the comments now, Cohen mocked Ye at the Kennedy Center Honors.

How Sacha Baron Cohen took on Kanye West as Borat

The 2022 Kennedy Center Honors saw a lot of stars, but one that stood out was Sacha Baron Cohen. During his performance, the actor channeled his inner Borat to mock Ye and former Donald Trump. Touching on the topic of anti-Semitic statements by Ye, Cohen said, “your Kayne. He tried to move to Kazakhstan and even tried to change his name to Kazakhstan-Ye West. But we said no. He’s too anti-semitic even for us.” The actor also mentioned Trump’s presidency, by connecting it to increasing anti-semitic sentiment in America in recent times.

The actor was supposed to honor the band U2, whom he referred to as “MeToo.” The cameras also planned to President Biden and his wife Jill Biden who witnessed the event, as Cohen asked, “Where are you, Mr. Trump?” He ended the speech by addressing the current President, “It is my wish to please you with my mouth.” Other people attending the event for U2 were George Clooney, Gladys Knight, Amy Grant, and Tania León.
