In his 2011’s romantic comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love, he devised the portrayal of his talent with sheer perfection. Just to brush up your memory, Gosling played Jacob- a serial, suave seducer of women with plenty of charisma to offer. And it was not until Hannah (Emma Stone) walked in that Jacob fell in love. Now if you remember, there was a scene in which Hannah asks what is his seducing move to win women over and he replies Dirty Dancing. And just a moment later, they mimicked the infamous lift in the most overwhelming way possible. But did you know that was not the only time Gosling did Dirty Dancing?

Apparently, back in 2019, directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Gosling had to woo Stone just with a seductive look. However, when they sat with him to discuss the script, the La La Land actor talked about the time when he actually did the Dirty Dancing lift to impress a girl. And at that very moment they decided, “Ok, that’s going in the movie!” And although Gosling was reluctant at first, the scene went on to become a fan favorite.
Notably, the scriptwriter, Dan Fogelman, then created the scene on paper with Gosling’s own use of this patented swoon-inducing move. The director further revealed that the two actors practiced for weeks to perfect the lift and hence they did not require any doubles. “It’s harder than it looks, and it’s scary. Ryan really worked hard. He’s a trained dancer, so he was concentrating on making Emma feel safe,” Ficarra further explained.
