Ryan Reynolds is known for two things: his humor and his love for his family. He puts his three daughters and wife, Blake Lively, at the top of his priority list. The actor loves being a father so much that he and his wife are planning to have a brood as large as their respective families. However, his love for fatherhood didn’t stop him from feeling anxious about it.

Reynolds has always been vocal about the joys of being a father. In many previous interviews, he has mentioned how he and Lively parent their kids themselves and love it despite the sleepless nights. During his journey of parenthood, he also learned that he was patient despite his short fuse. But there was a time when the Deadpool actor found himself being anxious after becoming a father for the second time.

Ryan Reynolds once found fatherhood to be anxiety-inducing

Reynolds and Lively are expecting their fourth child. On many occasions, the Free Guy actor has expressed his love for fatherhood and how he wants another girl to enter the Reynolds clan. As excited and comfortable as he is today with being a father, he went through the anxious days of parenthood after he welcomed Inez in 2016. He opened up about the same in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Life.

The Adam Project actor admitted during the interview that he found being a parent to be anxiety-inducing and how it makes one more desperate in everything they do because the urge to get back home is strong. He also share that “there’s just no time anymore, so you’re hardened by it. Anxiety, I think, that’s probably it.”

2017 was a really busy year for Reynolds because the actor had promotions for Life and an upcoming release that fall with The Hitman’s Bodyguard, not to mention the shoot for Deadpool 2. All of this likely ate up the time he wanted to spend with his daughters, James and Inez. Surely, Blake Lively helps him with the journey, given how the couple plan their work schedules to ensure the entire family is together at all times.

Years later, Reynolds is confident in his parenthood role and can’t wait for his fourth one to enter the world. On work front, he is working on Deadpool 3, deeply involved with Wrexham AFC and Mint Mobiles promotions, and working towards owning Ottawa Senators. With Lively due anytime now, in his own words, we will get to witness the glory of Reynolds’ parenthood once again.
