Ryan Reynolds has been a well-known actor since the 90s, however, his career has shot to unprecedented heights since the 2010s. The decade marked Reynolds’ most successful years with the release of Deadpool (I and II), The Hitman’s Bodyguard, 6 Underground, and more. Meanwhile, one of the first adventures that he embarked on with a superstar was X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With Reynolds working on Deadpool 3 with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, things are coming full circle.

Ever since they worked together in 2009, Reynolds and Jackman’s friendship has given way to one of the most entertaining friendships in Hollywood. Their truce throughout the years has been shaping up for their much-anticipated faceoff in Deadpool 3.

The Green Lantern actor has been candid about his efforts to get Jackman to join him as Wolverine in Deadpool. The most notable moment in his quest was when he declared “war” in 2018. However, now that things are finally coming together, Ryan Reynolds is dealing with a spectrum of emotions. An “absolute trash fire,” Reynolds described his first work with Hugh Jackman in an interview with Variety. This is slightly more refined than when he called Jackman an “evil person” while promoting 6 Underground. However, he nullified any venom by recalling how kind Jackman had been.

Reynolds took a short break from trolling his friend to say, “I feel that Hugh Jackman is responsible for many positive elements in the industry.” Safe to say, Jackman and Reynolds are not your average Hollywood besties. They might root for each other in their hearts, but on social media, their exchanges include calling each other a “fraud”.
