Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under scrutiny from the British tabloids and monarchists ever since they stepped down as working royals. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a home in California along with their children, Archie and Lilibet. Away from the House of Windsor, the couple is now trying to set a foot in the entertainment industry with a Spotify podcast and Netflix’s multimillion-dollar deal. 

While Harry and Meghan seem to enjoy a life away from the British eyes, the royal experts are of a different view. Royal expert Hugo Vickers believes that Prince Harry is not happy in his current life and needs to get back to the United Kingdom. The author believes that the charm and happiness on Harry’s face have been missing since he moved overseas with Meghan Markle. 

Royal expert compares Prince Harry with the Duke of Windsor

Elaborating on his opinion, Hugo reckoned that the members of the royal family are the happiest while they are on duty. The royal biographer advised Prince Harry to stop competing with the newly appointed monarch King Charles III as only those royals are successful who support the crown. 

Further, he gave an example of how the former King Edward VIII also radiated sadness after being away from his home. The Duke of Windsor could sit on the throne for only 325 days as he decided to marry an American divorcee Wallis Simpson. 

“As for members of the Royal family stepping away, I don’t think it usually leads to happiness in the long run. As for the Duke of Sussex, who knows what is going to happen to him, but he looks utterly miserable,” Hugo Vickers said, as quoted by Express. 

Meanwhile, another royal expert, Tina Brown, also commented on Harry’s body language during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and service. Brown believes that the former working royal looked out of place and uncomfortable during the entire process.
