Now, although Rick is quite a professional scientist, all his experiments are hazardous to death. Undoubtedly, the biggest example of this is when he topples the galactic government by changing a 1 to a 0. Thus, destroying the value of the blemflarck, a universally-accepted currency.

Rick’s access to everything values much more than currency notes. With all his inventions he can probably make The Smiths one of the richest in Seattle suburbs. However, it doesn’t ever occur to him to help his family for which others have to keep up and they keep up quite well.
