Not long ago, Henry Cavill announced his return to DCU as the most beloved incarnation of Superman. However, the recent decisions taken by the co-CEOs of DC Studios have put his prospects at risk. James Gunn and Peter Safran have canceled Wonder Woman 3, and it won’t be moving forward. DC fans are enraged by these changes and fear they might also cancel the sequel of Man of Steel.

Although viewers were aware that DCU has been evolving and changing all these years since they don’t have a cohesive connected universe, the reboot plan might be the biggest overhaul and fans clearly don’t want that. And this latest news would come as a shock to many that the Superman project already had a writer in Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders.

Steven Knight proposed a script for the long awaited revival of Henry Cavill

According to the latest report presented by The Hollywood Reporter, it is revealed that Steven Knight “penned a treatment” for Man of Steel 2. Alas! The word is that the notes submitted by the Peaky Blinders director failed to impress Warner Bros.

There were chances that the screenwriting process might move forward and Knight collaborate with another writer for the film. But the arrival of Gunn and Safran put an end to that hopeful future. Since then, the development of Man of Steel 2 saw some delays and the chances of fans seeing Henry Cavill in Superman costume are getting slimmer by the day.
