One of the most exciting parts about waiting for another season of your favorite shows is you get the answers. But dividing the season into even more parts can really compound the frustration of fans who are struggling to keep track of everything. However, splitting seasons into parts has become a popular strategy for Netflix. Do you remember when the streaming giant aired Stranger Things season 4 in 2 parts? While it did not hamper all the fun, horror, and thrill in the series, it certainly created a little discomfort in the mind of the King of Horror himself, Stephen King.
Stephen King is a maestro of horror as he writes supernatural fiction, suspense, crime, science-fiction, and fantasy novels. The 75-year-old writer loves the Netflix sci-fi fictional drama as well. He has followed the series thoroughly, which made him pick a bone with the writers of the show. The fourth season landed in two parts. Therefore, after watching the first volume of season 4, King put his complaint on his Twitter. While praising the season so far, the author called the decision of splitting the season into two parts “lame“.
The new season of STRANGER THINGS is really cool–as good or better than the previous three. There's even a CARRIE riff.
Is it the whole season or is it another one of those that's broken into 2 parts? IMHO that's kind of lame.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 1, 2022

Although the award-winning writer seemed to love the series, he had this specific problem with the show which other fans shared with him as well. But he recognized the reference to his work in the show, too. There is a scene where Eleven is covered with a chocolate milkshake, which is a clear homage to King’s Carrie. Not only did he praise the season, but he also declared it the best of the previous ones.
After looking at this complaint by the influential writer of America, the show’s writers addressed the issue and gave an explanation as well.
The Stranger Things writers have a funny response to Stephen King’s complaint
