While praising the season so far, the author called the decision of splitting the season into two parts “lame“. 

Although the award-winning writer seemed to love the series, he had this specific problem with the show which other fans shared with him as well. But he recognized the reference to his work in the show, too. There is a scene where Eleven is covered with a chocolate milkshake, which is a clear homage to King’s Carrie. Not only did he praise the season, but he also declared it the best of the previous ones.

Instead, they addressed the issue and wrote, “Sorry Uncle Stevie, 8+9 aren’t done yet,” and promised they were working on it as fast as they could.

The writers were glad to see King was enjoying the show and picked up on the references. However, once the second part of the season was out, he was afraid of watching the finale.
