Marvel Cinematic Universe is a juggernaut of the entertainment industry that has kept millions of viewers enchanted for years. Fans might spend hours arguing about it and cannot decide whether they love Captain America more or Thor. Their sprawling storylines, interconnected web of characters, and crossovers always make viewers fall in love a little more every time. And now this universe has given us something more to churn on as the beloved Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has joined the team.

We all know the process of movie production takes long years of discussions and planning before it is ready for the viewers. The Canadian star has made repeated promises that Deadpool 3 will be thrilling and in sync with its predecessors, while he has long been vocal about his desire to bring the legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino into the project. Unlike his opinion, the Oscar-winning director has a different perspective on Marvel movies.

Ryan Reynolds’ dream director targets Marvel movies 

You might remember more than a decade ago, Ryan Reynolds called Quentin Tarantino his dream director. During an interview with MTV News, the actor stated that he thinks Tarantino is the ideal person to take on the project whenever he thinks about a movie like Deadpool.

“Obviously Tarantino is a guy that likes to direct his own material, so there’s a good chance he wouldn’t be the guy,” explained the Free Guy star. Well, this might be the right thing that the actor said at that time. The Death Proof creator has recently made it evident that he would never be a part of the Marvel Universe.

During his appearance on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, the Pulp Fiction writer opened up about how Marvel characters are being wronged. “Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is… you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars. Right?” said the 59-year-old star.

According to the director, the adaptation is somewhere holding back these legendary characters. He has been a hardcore fan of Marvel Comics from childhood. Therefore, he does not feel excited about the movies anymore as they do not have the same spark like comics.

“There’s an aspect that if these movies were coming out when I was in my twenties, I would totally be fucking happy and totally love them,” explained Tarantino.
