Queen Elizabeth II Could Not Compromise the “authority of the crown” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
There is no doubt that the late Queen Elizabeth II had a soft spot for her younger grandson, Prince Harry. The monarch let go of a lot of royal protocols and rituals for her favorite grandson. She was also extremely welcoming of Meghan Markle into the family. The royal couple has always spoken highly of their bond with Her Majesty. However, there was one time when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle managed to miff the matriarch.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex forced Elizabeth into taking strict action against them as they played with the integrity of the crown. A new royal book by Robert Lacey titled Battle of Brothers has revealed that the Queen could do anything for her grandson but could not compromise with the authority of the crown.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s idea of commercializing their royal tag did not go with the Queen
Following their exit from the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to cash in their royal trademark of Sussex royal for monetization purposes. They also filed an application to the World Intellectual Property Organization to register the global trademark. The Duke and Duchess were planning to sell clothes, greeting cards, footwear, and stationery items under the brand. The royal prince did not take permission from the Queen for cashing on the royal links and thus managed to upset the monarch.
“There were some matters on which Elizabeth II would not compromise — and chief among them was the authority of the crown,” Lacey has mentioned in her book as quoted by The News.

The Battle of Brothers author further reflected on the racism claims by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
