Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Their Fight With the Palace and Prejudice of Britain

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Their Fight With the Palace and Prejudice of Britain

The British royal family in the past few years has seen quite a lot of never seen phenomenons at the hands of two of its senior royal members and the media. Even before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in a grand wedding turned infamous owing to, yet again, the media, one wouldn’t need twenty-twenty vision to understand that the British tabloids saw the two lovebirds as the bullseye.

What started as a fashion disciplinary movement by the media turned into the outright lynching of Prince Harry and more strongly Meghan Markle. And for the world who fell in love with the former Princess of Wales, the late Diana Spencer, this targeting of the Duke and Duchess smelled very similar to a rotten broth they once had.

Megxit couldn’t free the Sussex from media prejudice

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down from their senior royal duties, fans rejoiced. The megxit was a move applauded by a few while others booed it as a destruction of the sacred family in which lies the defender of the faith and supreme governor, King Charles, also described as unemotional and insecure by Prince Harry in his memoir.

The memoir paired with the tell-all Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary has collectively made some pretty scathing accusations about the royal family ranging from racism to playing ball with the very British tabloids. This has supposedly also caused them to decline in popularity. This makes one question, Is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fight not relevant anymore?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fight is not mere pop culture drama

The question has been wonderfully answered by Zeynep Tufecki, a columnist at The New York Times. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have actively stepped into the burning fire pit which is the Internet by choosing to sell their story as a docuseries on Netflix. And before fans could even come to terms with the fact that the royal family had been accused by Meghan Markle of not providing her the due help when she was suicidal, Prince Harry dropped a memoir.

Titled ‘Spare’ as a sign of how the royal family, more specifically his brother and father treated him. Prince Harry in his evidently emotional pursuit of making the world know of the damage that the royal family had caused him and his wife made rushed mistakes in his memoir.

The mistakes albeit few, not only made his memoir the subject of a meme fest but also disregarded the other facts made by him.

“He has made credible, even documented claims that his own family refused to stand up against their ugly, sustained attacks against Meghan,” Tufecki writes in her The New York Times piece. It is quite disappointing to see that the claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been beaten down to “mere celebrity tittle-tattle” completely disregarding the plight of the couple who were driven out of the Royal family and also England.

Well, I think the Wokeness that they both promote is a huge turn off for most people.

Had the FIRM protected Meghan just as they did to Kate, the Sussexes would have been a very great asset to the Royal Family and the FIRM. SIMPLY because, there are only two children of the new Monarch who could have join together to secure their legacy but what they did is turn their back to the spare and the Heir now is on his own. It’s the Firm’s mistake not to protect the Spare, the Sussexes.
