‘Partner Track’ Actor Arden Cho Describes Her Character Ingrid as “three-dimensional”
Netflix had a surprise summer hit with Lincoln Lawyer, and it is bringing yet another law-based show to its subscribers. Only this time, it is packaged a bit differently. The fashion is exquisite in Partner Track, and it focuses more on the trials and tribulations of a woman in the field of law than on solving a crime. Less crime mystery and more of a dramedy, Arden Cho talks about her character Ingrid and her motivations in the show.

“Newton’s first law of motion: an object at rest stays at rest. It’s simple if you want to accelerate, you need more force,” that’s how we are introduced to Arden Cho’s Ingrid. It is Ingrid’s motto in life. She knows she has chosen a difficult path and “a pretty aggressive fight.” She needs to play the long game if she wants to make a partner at the esteemed law firm where she works at.
She has to navigate the world of law that is still male-dominated and fight gender discrimination in the workplace. Meanwhile, she has to deal with the pressure from home, her friendship, and her love life. After all, she is the first in her family to make it big.

Talking about her “three-dimensional” character in Partner Track, Cho said, “Ingrid wants to be someone who brings justice and makes a difference in this world.” However, she continues, “in an industry where it’s already beyond competitive, she has to fight against people having connections or gender discrimination.”
But fortunately, she is not alone in the fight. She has her two best friends, Tyler and Rachel. Rachel is the friend Ingrid needs to navigate the sea of men at Parsons Valentine and also the one to “pull another shot for her.” At the same time, Tyler is the “sophisticated, intelligent, witty hustler” of the trio. The latest law show on Netflix is a story about three people who aren’t “traditionally part of the power structure.”
