The legendary actor dedicated his tattoo to Millie Bobby Brown’s character in Stranger Things. “A lot of people ask what my tattoo means. Now you know,” Matthew wrote on his official Instagram handle.
The actual story behind Lewis’ tattoo
The post was all in fun and games as Lewis got the tattoo much before the first season of Stranger Things premiered on the television screens. In 2008, the 33-year-old reflected on his tattoo saying that it refers to his squad number in soccer.

“It was on my mind for ages what to get, so I said, why not get that because it’s always going to be my squad number, it’s never going to change,” the star said as quoted by EW.
The number 11 is also significant for Lewis in other ways. The actor was 11 years old when he auditioned for the path-breaking role of Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter.
