Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, apart from being incredible actors, are big-time soccer fans. Ever since the duo took over Wrexham A.F.C., they have left no stone unturned to promote their club. We are no strangers to the duo’s love and enthusiasm for the sport. Both the actors are often spotted in various matches of the game to support and boost the morale of their team. However, now it seems like the actors plan to take their enthusiasm for the sport to the next level as they plan to participate in a tournament.

While we have spotted Reynolds and McElhenny in the stand to support Wrexham, we will now have a chance to witness the duo play for their club. As surprising as it sounds, the co-owners will put on Wrexham jerseys for an upcoming tournament, The Soccer Tournament. As per Express co.Uk, the tournament will be held in a 7v7 format. It will take place in North Carolina, United States, in June. The duo will compete for $1 million prize pool tournament. Interestingly, this is the first time we will ever witness the duo play the sport since their takeover.

Wrexham adviser Shaun Harvey also confirmed Wrexham’s presence in the tournament. In a statement to Daily Mirror, Harvey spoke, “We look forward to debuting in the US with a legends team and the ambition of winning the tournament.” Apart from Wrexham A.F.C, 31 other teams will be taking part in this summer tournament.

Meanwhile, the tournament will witness a number of other professionals as well. A plethora of other football stars and popular individuals will be taking part in the tournament. Some renowned faces taking place in the tournament include former US football star Clint Dempsey and Heather O’Reilly as well.

Who all are going to play alongside Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for Wrexham A.F.C.?

While it may be the first time Reynolds and McElhenney will be playing the sport, it seems like the duo is determined to put up a fight. Apart from them, Wrexham will have an experienced roster. Others playing for the team include former coach and Burnley star David Jones and Wrexham star Paul Rutherford. Shaun Pearson and Mark Carrington will also play for the Red Dragons.

With such a roster, Wrexham has a huge chance of aceing their games. Or so the fans of the club hope.
