Neve and Manuel had never worked together prior to The Lincoln Lawyer, so both of them decided to take some time to get to know each other before the shoot started.
Both of them went on a hike where Neve gave Manuel many tips on working on his first English language TV show. “Television is one day at a time” was the valuable advice that Neve gave Rulfo.
But even after getting such great advice, Rulfo was still nervous before his first scene with neve and made a huge mistake.
While talking about how conscious and nervous Manuel was on his first time shooting with Neve, she shared that he almost got the iconic car hit.

“The very first scene we shot together was in the first episode. He pulled the car up, and he jumped out, but he forgot to put the car in park, and it kept rolling down,” shared the actress.
Probably a good thing Manuel did not have to drive too much in series, thanks to Jazz Raycole’s Izzy Letts. In real life, too, Manuel does not like driving much. Instead loves to walk or bicycle most of the time.
