Witnessing how the hype surrounding The Haunting of the Hill House in 2018 refused to die down even after the pumpkin decorations were exchanged for jingle bell, Netflix decided to go for the long run with Mike Flanagan. And ever since then, it has been one horror masterpiece after another. Even before the announcement, fans felt through their rising hair a Flanagan and Netflix collaboration cooking every time Halloween is around. And they did not miss as the streamer has announced The Fall of the House of Usher.

While a trailer is yet to be released, the poster, the family, and more importantly, the ‘house’ in the title of the show are very reminiscent of previous Flanagan projects. The OTT Mogul incorporated a shiver-inducing message in its otherwise official release date announcement as it wrote, “They are dying to meet you.”

The director has opted for an Edgar Allan Poe tale for this Halloween. However, he will be bringing his own psychological magic to the series, among other things, while depriving it of traditional horror elements.

This horror season, Mike Flanagan wants to make his viewers feel horror without any ghosts. But that does not mean it is not the bombastic chaos Kate Siegel described it to be.

Fans react as Mike Flanagan makes his Netflix comeback with The Fall of the House of Usher

Based on Edgar Allan Poe’s tale of the same name, the Netflix series will be following the ruthless siblings of the Usher family. However, to make sure viewers are smacked with the element of surprise, Mike Flanagan will be incorporating several other works of Poe. And as horrifying as it sounds, it is just what fans wanted for Halloween.

From “banger incoming” to “we are dying to meet them too” fans were loud with their appreciation for this announcement. Some even went as far as saying that the annual Mike Flanagan projects were the only reason they are still subscribed to Netflix.

Apart from the trusted director, Netflix has also kept the tradition of recasting fan-favorite actors alive. From Kate Siegel to Rahul Kohli, fans were on the roof thanks to the poster. With the release date set for 12th of October, the wait will be painful, but fans are already sure that it will be worth it.
