Netflix Releases Trailer for Upcoming Flick ‘Reptile’ Starring Justin Timberlake and Benicio Del Toro

Continuing their trend of delivering cinematic masterpieces, Netflix is set to release another original titled Reptile. It is a mystery thriller that follows a detective as he pursues an intriguing case. Netflix has a history of producing remarkable detective dramas like Enola Holmes with Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. Even in terms of thrillers, the OTT mogul has made some brilliant flicks like Gray Man and Ryan Reynolds starrer Red Notice. So it is safe to say that audiences have high hopes for Reptile.

With Reptile hitting the platform on the 6th of October, viewers are gearing up for a thrilling performance from its star cast. And the trailer that was recently dropped has only taken their expectations higher. 

A murder case straight out of a nightmare

From the moment the trailer opened, the cinematography painted a daunting tale of a cop. In the wake of a brutal homicide involving a young woman, a seasoned detective took on the challenge of unraveling a web of deception. As he delved deeper, the illusions that shroud not only the case but also his own life begin to crumble. 

With some impressive-looking visuals, Reptile was depicted to be a gripping journey into the depths of mystery and self-discovery. No wonder the flick was chosen to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival among seven other Netflix originals! Moreover, the trailer itself is a testament to the great work put in by its team.

Reptile is one of the OTT mogul’s most-awaited releases of 2023. After all, its cast consists of not just one but multiple award-winning actors.

Who did Netflix bring for the team and cast of Reptile?

Benicio Del Toro, who has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA among other accolades, took on the role of the leading detective. He is joined by his Excess Baggage co-star Alicia Silverstone, who won an MTV award for her debut role in the iconic thriller The Crush. Besides them, the Emmy winner Justin Timberlake took on the role of the murdered woman’s husband.

Timberlake, who made his acting debut alongside Ryan Gosling as a child actor for Disney, made his return to acting after a decade with Palmer in 2021. Reptile will also mark the directorial debut for Grant Singer, who has previously worked with artists like The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes in music videos.
