Canceling fan-favorite shows only makes them look bad as fans do not want their favorite shows to end. However, streaming giants, including Netflix, can not stop canceling the shows because of various reasons. These cancelations steered the viewers to a point where they had to cancel their subscriptions. YouGov did a survey about how it impacted the mindsets of the viewers.
As Variety reported, the survey reflected how the cancelation of the shows affects viewers in the United States. 27% of the viewers wait for the show’s finale before the show even starts with the fear of its probable cancellation followed by an abrupt ending. There are also 24% of the US viewers who do not want to wait for the further season after cliffhangers. And almost half of the viewers preferred to wait for the entire series to land. Thus, they can binge-watch it as they want.

The number of viewers who wait for the show’s finale before it even starts is almost half of the number of Americans. The age group that preferred this arrangement was between 18 to 34. 25% of them marked always and 34% of them marked sometimes. Moreover, approximately one-third of American adults began watching the original shows that started around February 2022. These shows have been canceled with an extremely absurd plot of the show.
How else do the shows that Netflix and other OTT platforms cancel affect the viewers?
As any streaming giant cancels a show, they upset the die-hard fans of the show. For instance, when Netflix canceled Warrior Nun, fans of the show literally circulated a petition to bring the show back. Fans even canceled their subscription to the streaming service. This happened with many of the shows that different streaming service giants canceled.
