Enola Holmes, the Netflix original film released in 2020, is a prime example of a feminist film. The movie featured a strong and independent female protagonist who defied societal expectations and demonstrates her own agency throughout the film. The lead actress, Millie Bobby Brown, recently revealed why she chose to play the character in the Netflix film.

Enola Holmes, played by the Stranger Things actress, was a young woman who refused to conform to gender roles. She refused to conform to the expectations set by society during the Victorian era. She was resourceful, intelligent, and skilled in combat and deduction, all traits that were typically associated with male characters in the genre. Recently, at People Con’s SFMLE, the newly engaged actress opened up about her iconic character.

Brown revealed she felt it was important for young people, especially young women, to have an inspirational change. She believed a change maker is somebody who inspires girls to use their brains, use all of their attributes to get to where they need to be and then continue to jump hurdles and struggles. Moreover, the 19-year-old actress talked about how womanhood did not define them.

As she expressed her thoughts, Millie Bobby Brown mentioned despite what others and society say, women can follow their own path. Therefore, paying Enola in the Enola Holmes franchise was extremely important for Brown.

After the success of her film, Enola Holmes, the Godzilla actress, took to her Instagram to send out a powerful message. In her Instagram post, she encouraged the young female to live up to their potential and fight for their dreams. She encouraged them to never give up. While fans found the message to be extremely powerful, they expressed their willingness to see more of her Enola Holmes.

Although Netflix has not announced anything about the renewal of yet another Enola Holmes film, her fans will be able to see her in two major Netflix films. One of them is Damsel, which is a fantasy film and the other one is The Electric State, which is a sci-fi film, directed by the Russo Brothers. How can we forget the fifth and final season of the fan-favorite Stranger Things?
