The Fall of the House of Usher succeeds Midnight Mass
His new series The Fall of the House of Usher is based on the 1839 short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Poe was an American writer, poet, and bibliophile renowned for his macabre narrative capabilities, especially in the mystery genre. As a major figure in American Romanticism and American literature, he is widely regarded as a key figure.
The short story was an 1840 issue in Poe’s Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. It is a supernatural horror wherein an unidentified narrator attempts to help his long-lost friend, Roderick Usher. Usher suffers from mental health ailments and longs for the narrator’s company.

Upon arriving at his fantastical yet almost dilapidating family mansion, the narrator uncovers strange symptoms, disturbing revelations, and several hidden secrets. The Fall of the House of Usher is speculated to borrow from a wide variety of Poe’s works, not unlike Bly Manor, which was inspired and adapted from the works of Henry James.
The creators have kept much of the narrative details for the new series confidential. However, this build-up sure has got the viewers excited. As we wait for the official release date, one must re-watch his previous shows like Haunting of Hill House, Bly manor, and Midnight Mass on Netflix.
