Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their Royal duties in 2016, everybody has had their eyes on the royal couple. Meghan Markle, as we all know, was a popular face in Hollywood prior to her marriage to Prince Harry. Before her show, Harry & Meghan on Netflix, the actress starred in a number of shows and films. However, as Markle made her big breakthrough on TV in 2011 with Suits, the actress even brought a major change in her personal life.
Meghan Markle and her first marriage
The Suits actress was previously married to American producer Trevor Engelson. The couple first met in the early 2000s. Shortly after, the duo hit it off and started dating in 2004. The Duchess of Sussex was with Engleson for almost six years before the two decided to tie the knot in 2010. Interestingly, as per the Sun, the ceremony went on for about “15 minutes” only. However, the duo’s relationship soon hit the rocks.
The couple called it quit in 2013. While the reason behind the divorce is not yet clear, the couple apparently cited “irreconcilable differences” and went separate ways. Meanwhile, a source close to the matter shed some light on the topic.

As per the source, Meghan flew to Toronto to film her show Suits while Trevor was still in Los Angeles. Furthermore, according to Lifestyle and Mag, “They really battled with long distances. It was a very difficult way to start married life.”
A surprising fact about their marriage was that Meghan posted back all her wedding and engagement rings to Engelson. Surprisingly, the marriage received very little attention back then. Almost a decade later, Meghan has been happily married to Prince Harry for almost five years now. On the other hand, Engelson has been dating a nutrition expert for almost a year now.
Meanwhile, the Royal Couple found themselves in some hot water again. Reportedly, the palace i’ ‘Ups’t’ with Prince Harry for leaking private chats between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
