While the Duchess was a fresh divorcee, McIlroy also became freshly single as he broke things with tennis superstar Caroline Wozniacki. Apparently, the sports duo broke up after mailing out wedding invitations, which made headlines for quite a long time.
However, he was soon associated with the American actress, which raised quite a lot of eyebrows. Not just that, the story of this duo participating in a famous challenge will blow your mind.

A famous challenge brought Markle and McIlroy closer
Remember the famous ice bucket challenge? Well, that is the reason this duo initially came into the limelight. Initially, McIlroy was nominated by the famous player Tiger Woods to do it. The golfer then nominated Meghan Markle for the same and even participated with her in it by pouring a bucket of ice over the actress.

Markle was not the only person he challenged. As per Page Six, George W. Bush and Wayne Rooney were two other celebrities challenged by McIlroy. However, the rumored couple was not spotted much together after that and about a month later, the actress started dating Cory Vitiello. Thus, the rumors of her and McIlroy disappeared into thin air.
