Loved Zack Snyder’s Take on Superman’s Black Suit? Here Is the First Ever Occurrence of the Iconic Suit Way Before Henry Cavill Donned It
In 2021, fans saw their beloved hero Henry Cavill as a grittier version of Superman sporting a new look. Since the superhero resurrected from the world of death after the massive showdown in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder’s Justice League depicted him in an all-black Kryptonian regeneration suit that reflected the new personality of Clark Kent.
His suit served as a symbol in the film of how Superman returned to life, albeit confused and disoriented, but with immense strength. However, many wondered why he still wore the dark outfit after defeating Steppenwolf. Fans might not be able to know where the director was planning to take this iconic character. But we can tell you about the first-ever occurrence of a new suit.

What is the origin of Superman’s black suit donned by Henry Cavill?
The death of Superman is considered one of the most important incidents in the 90s. The battle between worlds resulted in this alien superhero having to pay the ultimate price to save the Earth. Comic book readers might already know that Action Comics #689 focused on the resurrection.
The comic narrates what viewers saw in the 2021 film when Henry Cavill draws power from a Kryptonian Regeneration Matrix. Superman comes back to life but lacks his kind heart and had no control over his lethal powers.

“The being is later revealed to be the consciousness of the Kryptonian android, the Eradicator, which had come to believe itself to be Superman, though as a far more ruthless individual,” writes Bleeding Cool in its recent post on the Black Superman Suit.
The comic noted that the character’s first look after revival is in a black Kryptonian bodysuit with a shield crest on his chest. Unlike the movie where the Enola Holmes 2 star is seen in pants, analyzing heroes through his eyes. But they do show him in the comic-based avatar later donning the suit.
