Kanye West, one of the most famous rappers in the industry today is never short on feuds and beefs. Owing to Kanye’s nature of always speaking his mind has often resulted in his clashes with several rappers in the industry. Amongst the many feuds Ye has had over the years, one is with popular rapper, J.Cole. The duo’s relationship timeline is no less than a roller coaster. A bond that started off with West helping Cole with his first album and resulting in Cole calling out Ye on his songs. The duo shares a complicated relationship. However, recently, the Middle Child hitmaker made a strange plea to the rapper.

J.Cole is one of the most popular rappers in today’s time. The Change rapper, however, is also not new to taking shots and making subliminal disses on other rappers. A few years ago, Cole took a jibe at Ye on his song ‘False Prophets’.  While the situation West shared with J.Cole cannot be termed as beef, it did result in some Twitter feuds over leaked phone calls.

However, years later, Cole name-called the ‘Gold Digger’ singer while he performed his song ‘Villematic’ for the first time in years. And interestingly, Cole made a plea to the rapper as he spoke, “Please clear the sample for me, my brother. I appreciate it.”  Meanwhile, Twitterati flooded Twitter with a plethora of reactions.

Cole’s 2010 song ‘Villematic’ borrows some of its beats from the Kanye’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ cut Devil in a new dress. However, as Cole asked West to clear the sample, the internet was not having it. A number of fans were quick enough to call out Cole for using West’s beats since the duo never shared such a strong bond. Others hilariously wrote how the rapper would have cleared it if Cole did not take shots at him.

Meanwhile, a user pointed out the lush beat was exactly same as Ye’s Devil in a new Dress and that he would never clear it.

While Cole did once take shots at West once, when the latter’s documentary released, he was all praises.

How J Cole reacted to Kanye West documentary on Netflix

Kanye West’s documentary on Netflix Jeen-Yuhs made its way to our screens last year. The documentary series based on the life of the rapper took us through Ye’s early career as a producer. And later it followed the story of his transition from a producer to a rapper. And like many others, J.Cole was full of praises for the series.

The ‘Middle Child’ hitmaker took to Instagram as he lauded the documentary series. Cole could not help but marvel at the documentary. The rapper even wrote in a now deleted Instagram post that he was “grateful to have watched.”
