Apart from bringing the best shows and movies on its platform, one of the best features Netflix has offered its audience is the ease of accessing shows whenever and wherever. Moreover, it also provides a download option for anyone who needs offline access to top-quality TV series and films. September will have a variety of upcoming dramas and movies released, such as the 5th season of Cobra Kai and A Cinderella Story. But at the same time, it is time to bid farewell to specific shows. The Vampire Diaries and sci-fi series Dark Matter will soon leave or will have left the platform. Sadly, the same fate is a 2004 popular comedy movie featuring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams. The teen classic will be removed from the platform in September. 

This Lindsay Lohan movie will soon be leaving Netflix

Directed by Mark Waters, the comedy teen drama film first made its way to big screens on 3rd September 2004. The movie was well-liked and was a critical and a box office hit, grossing nearly 130 million dollars worldwide during its theatrical run. Mean Girls follows the story of teenager Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) and her experience as a public high school student. The hit teen drama returned recently on Netflix in July 2022. However, Pop Base’s Twitter account confirmed that the show would soon leave the platform. 

Sadly, the comedy teen classic will leave the platform on 30th September, just three days before October 3rd. Surprisingly, October 3rd is also known as Mean Girls Day. 

The film also starred American actress Tina Fey. Previously, Fey has appeared in the sitcom series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and recently in Free Guy. The Dropout star Amand Seyfried and actor Jonathan Bennett are a part of the film too.

Mean Girls had an impact beyond the screen. For instance, in 2013, the Obama White House tweeted a picture of the family’s first dog Bo with the caption, “Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen.” 

If you are a Mean Girls fan, you know High schooler Gretchen (Lacey Chabert) throws out the word fetch as a synonym for cool. Furthermore, Colorado College offered a course about Mean Girls through its literature department.
