“I’ve aggressively gone 180 from Steve Rogers”: Chris Evans on Going Far Cry From Captain America to Craving “anarchy” in Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man’
It often happens that we get so used to seeing an actor in a particular role so often that it gets difficult for us to imagine them doing something else. This holds true for Chris Evans, someone whose name rings the bell of Captain America in our brains. This isn’t to say that this actor hasn’t had other successful roles. We have seen him working in other superhero stories like Fantastic Four or in roles completely unlike the former two, like Frank Adler in Gifted. His next role is that of Lloyd Hansen in The Gray Man, which Evans couldn’t help but compare with good old Steve Rogers. Here’s what he had to say about the two very different characters.
In what ways, according to Chris Evans, is Lloyd Hansen different from Steve Rogers?

If we had to sum up the entire character of Captain America, or Steve Rogers, in a single adjective, we’d say he is a “goody-two-shoes“. He is the one superhero who isn’t morally grey in any way. Rogers has made sure his moral compass never wavers. But, after finding his ending with Peggy Carter, Evans’ next role with the Joe and Anthony Russo is that of Hansen Lloyd in Netflix’s espionage thriller The Gray Man.

While Steve Rogers was the ideal protagonist, Hansen is the kind of character whose smile you should fear more than his scowl. He craves anarchy and is on the hunt for a CIA officer (Ryan Gosling). After playing this sadistic assassin in the Netflix series, fans know for a fact why Chris Evans said he has “aggressively gone 180 (degrees) from Steve Rogers“.

Additionally, Evans also mentioned how he loves working with the Russo. He said, “I love the Russos, and I’ll pretty much do anything they ask me to do.” Considering how successful the actor’s last collaboration with them was, the bar is pretty high for The Gray Man on Netflix. Until its release, here are other superhero movies and series you can enjoy.
