And this time around, the young texting generation finds an accurate depiction of themselves in Netflix’s Heartstopper.

Heartstopper and its depiction of texting teenagers has left fans happy

There are a lot of things from Heartstopper that deserve appreciation. The all-around positivity, the ability of the show to inspire young people, and most importantly, characters that seem real. But amidst all this, fans of the show have found yet another interesting detail you may have looked over. Eagle-eyed fans noticed how the way characters in Heartstopper text is way more realistic than many other shows.

“Also can we appreciate that Heartstopper is the first teen show tht actually represents texting properly with like the keyboard smashes and everything,” wrote one fan on Twitter. Another fan talked about Charlie texting “Im Screaming” while calmly sitting in the bed is the accurate representation.

Fans also pointed out how Instagram looks like Instagram in the show, and not something “made on PicsArt“. They also highlighted how the characters use Instagram for communication and texting, as opposed to messages. Fans also lauded the lingo that was used in the show, it looks like it struck a chord with many people.
