“It’s going to be weird for her” – When Comedian John Oliver Gave Meghan Markle an Advice Before Her Royal Wedding
Meghan Markle’s life has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride since her marriage to Prince Harry. The two tied the knot on May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2018. Since then, they have been in the news either for their controversial statements or shocking decisions. Meghan Markle could only endure the life of the working royal for less than two years as she and Harry decided to step down from their duties in January 2020.
The couple moved to California with their firstborn, Archie. It took them over a year to give a clarification about their relocation. Speaking to Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed the hardships she faced in the royal household being a woman of color. The former actress also admitted to having suicidal tendencies due to remarks by certain members of the family and the British tabloids. Meanwhile, the British-American comedian John Oliver predicted a turbulent married life for Meghan Markle way before her wedding to the royal prince.

John Oliver once issued a warning to Meghan Markle
Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in February 2018, John Oliver reflected on how it was a bad idea for Meghan Markle to be a part of the royal family. The comedian did not seem much fond of the royal family. He even went on to say how we would not be surprised if the American star backed out from the wedding at the last moment.

He described the royal members as flawed people with a pseudo-job. He warned Meghan of being emotionally wrecked in the House of Windsor. Oliver stated how only the pilot episode of The Crown is enough to know how the royals are emotionally stunted.
“I don’t think you need to have just seen the pilot episode of The Crown. To get a basic sense that she might be marrying into a family that could cause some emotional complications. That’s what she’s marrying into. It’s going to be weird for her,” the British-American comedian said in 2018.
