As the first look of his upcoming saga, Rebel Moon was out, Snyder revealed more details about the release of the two-part film.

The most-awaited saga, Rebel Moon, by the 300 director finally got the first looks revealed. As Vanity Fair reported, Snyder first pitched it as a part of the Star Wars series to Lucasfilm. But they did not get on with the idea, resulting in Snyder getting the home for his epic film at Netflix which will release the upcoming film in 2 parts. Talking about that, Snyder revealed, “It won’t be long after,” referring to the release of the second part of the film.

The first part of the film will land on the American OTT platform on the 22nd of December, 2023. Therefore, fans had an obvious concern about the next part’s release. But as the Justice League director assured, fans would not have to wait for long. Because Netflix could do things that, as Snyder pointed out, other studios could not do as far as the release of the films was concerned.

While talking about the first look of the movie, he also talked about the reason behind releasing the film in 2 parts. On the one hand, his Snyderverse got axed from the DCU. Netflix gave Snyder a platform to express his creative vision openly.

Zack Snyder revealed an interesting story for Rebel Moon having 2 parts

Originally, the 57-year-old director wanted to create the epic saga with only one film. However, Scott Stuber got his concerns because the one-script film was around 3 hours long. So, when Stuber expressed his worries, Snyder revealed if they would ask him to make a film of less than 3 hours, he would lose all his characters, something Snyder did not want to risk.

But to his surprise, Scott Stuber asked him how would it make him feel if he would give him 2 movies. And thus, the American visionary director got his dream of creating Rebel Moon true. Zack Snyder has already worked with Netflix before. Therefore, the executives of the OTT platform already had an understanding of Zack’s vision. Nevertheless, Snyder himself respected the kind of content Netflix served to the audience. He once gushed over Netflix when he had a conversation with The Russo Brothers at Pizza Film School as well.
