You might remember the time when news broke out that a British actor will play the iconic role of Superman. Fans and critics were skeptical about how Henry Cavill would embody an American superhero. But the first collaboration between Zack Snyder and this handsome man turned out quite remarkable. People loved the Man of Steel so much that they revolted against the DC Studios last year when Cavill was benched from the role. But did you know that the 39-year-old star faced difficulties swapping back to his original tongue after doing American accents?
Back in 2013, Henry Cavill sat down with Collider for an on-set interview when he was shooting Man of Steel. During the conversation, the actor opened up about how he worked on the American dialect to play Superman. He stated that he has previously done this accent in movies and learned from coaches. To him, some things were tricky in the beginning because his real tone is quite different, but eventually, he became a natural.
Since the Stardust star used to spend most of his days speaking American style, it embedded into him so much that couldn’t reverse back to his British tongue. “At the end of the day, it often takes an effort when I’m talking to my fiancée to bring my English back just because you’re so used to speaking that way,” explained the Jersey-born artist.

However, this isn’t the only time he faced difficulties in changing his dialect. It has happened many times.
Changing accents is the hardest thing for Henry Cavill
Two years after the release of this superhero film, the British actor starred in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. playing CIA agent Napoleon Solo. Speaking with FlavourMag, Henry Cavill stated that accent was the hardest task for him in the film. The actor sat down with his dialect coach to understand the whole process and then started filming.
This is how fans got the most authentic version of the powerful superhero that they adore deeply. Alas! we have lost him forever now and you might never see him in that costume again.
