Considering the fact that The Witcher has been out since 2019 and there has been no news of a DVD release so far, fans are skeptical about it happening. However, there is nothing for fans to be worried about! Each episode of a show is released separately in the DVD or Blu-ray versions. And, the platform never adds or deletes any scene or makes any other alteration.
How did Netflix go from a “DVD by mail” company to a streaming service?
The 1990s saw the birth of most of the world’s largest corporates. This is because of the technological advancements made in the previous decade when Tim Berners Lee had created the World Wide Web. After the worldwide web was worked upon, it become more accessible to the common citizens.
With greater accessibility to the internet came the inevitable capitalization and higher convenience for users of the same. Amazon, Yahoo!, Google are but a few examples of the impact of this era. Another defining corporate that began during this period was Netflix.
When Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph were left out of a job after a merger, they wanted to make something out of the internet. After endless brainstorming, the duo decided to sell a new Japanese invention called DVDs. They realized DVDs would soon replace VHS cassettes and they couldn’t have brought it into the market at a better time.

Of course, the company has changed a lot since. The Netflix we know now is the world’s most successful streaming service. By 2007, only within a decade of its incorporation, the company began streaming content directly to TVs, computers, and tablets. Before 2010, the company had completely shifted its focus from DVD subscription to streaming.
In 2012, the platform began producing Netflix Originals, of which there are now over 1900. House of Cards, The Witcher, Squid Game, Money Heist, Bridgerton, and The Crown are some of the platform’s most successful productions.
